Worship is the heartbeat in the life of our church family. We gather weekly to read the word, pray, sing, and praise the God who gave us life.
We offer three different opportunities for worship, each with their own unique personality and style.
Come as you are to the 8:00 AM service where friendly members of our church family sing familiar hymns and affirm our faith together for the first worship service of the day.
The 9:30 AM service is marked by the kind of high energy music that draws members into joyful worship of God. The Word is proclaimed and the Good News is preached to sharpen us for service.
From the powerful music of the organ to the angelic voices of our choir, the 11:00 AM service provides the reading of the Word, responsive liturgy, and unforgetable music that fills the heart all week long.
I’m a Florida native and have served 28 years as an ordained pastor in the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. This first year at First Church Oviedo has been full of challenges and blessings. My biggest blessing continues to be my wife, Dustin, and our four children. Come see the blessings God has in store for you.
My wife, Sophie, and I were born in Kenya. We met here in America at the University of Kentucky where we married. After moving to Oviedo to work as a professor at Asbury Seminary, I also came to serve as the assistant pastor at First Church Oviedo. God has revealed himself to my family here through the warm hospitality and generosity of our church family. This church has been a blessing to me and could be to you as well.
My husband and I are from Tampa. We are new to Oviedo and First Church. As the Associate Pastor of Contemporary Worship and Mission Engagement, I serve God by serving His people in our church, in our community, and throughout the world! I love to share God’s Word through testimony, music, small groups, and fellowship. I would love to meet you and be a part of God’s blessing to you.
I love everything Harry Potter, Disney, and Star Wars. I am pretty sure if I was a shoe I would be Rainbow Sandals with a braided strap. I have a German Shepherd puppy named Remus, after Professor Lupin of course. After growing up in West Palm Beach, I went to Florida Southern College where I graduated with a degree in Religion and concentration in Youth Ministry. I’d love to get to know you!
